Are You Ready to Show Some Skin?

Spring is here, and what comes after spring? Summer! The weather is already starting to heat up and the trends are coming packed with bermudas, skirts, dresses and short gorgeous outfits that we all just can’t wait to wear. We all want to be at the top of our game especially as we get ready for swimsuit season coming right around the corner.

Let’s talk a little bit about everything you need to know about waxing!

Should I Wax?
If you have some hair you want to get rid of, then yes! Waxing is recommended for people of different ages and both genders.

Waxing vs. Shaving
Waxing is better because it removes the hair from the root. When you shave, you just cut the hair, so a few hours later you can already see a little shadow from the hair follicle below the skin. Also, waxing lasts longer than a shave.

Getting Ready for a Wax
If you are worried about experiencing any pain, you can take an Advil an hour before your appointment. Exfoliate the day before you waxing session and don’t apply body lotion the same day of your appointment.

How Often to Wax
Time varies between waxes depending on how quickly the hair grows back. Three or four weeks between sessions is the usual time but there can always be exceptions to the rules. If you have shaven recently you might want to wait five days before getting a wax.

What to Expect
First step is to disinfect the area. After that, the wax will be applied and removed from small areas of hair at a time. Afterwards, if there is any residue wax, this should be removed and have some soothing cream applied.

Does it hurt?
Waxing is uncomfortable; I will not lie. But pain stops immediately after the time of service. If the hair is being pulled out the right way, the discomfort will be there, but you know how it goes: no pain, no gain.

What Happens After?
Although pain disappears after the session is over, the area you had work on can be sensitive for a while longer. Don’t scrub it or expose to the sun. If you want to do something to treat the redness or swelling, you could apply a little cortisone cream on the area.

How do I Keep It?
After the tenderness is gone, it is recommended to exfoliate in the shower to remove dead skin so the pores don’t get clogged, which can cause ingrown hairs or bumps.

So, are you still thinking about it or have you made your mind? Give us a call to book you waxing session. You can also consult our specialists before making any decisions. See you soon!

Make Waves This Spring!

Hello girls! This post is just for you. Today I want to share with you two of the fabulous Kérastase hair tutorials you could use this spring to spread fabulousness everywhere you go!

THE NATURAL BEACH WAVES

This beachy towel effect will get you the most beautiful casual waves, on a daily basis.

1. Begin by priming clean, dam hair with THERMIQUE
2. Spray a generous amount of SPRAY A PORTER from high mid-lenghts  to ends.
3. Tilting your head to the side, let ends fall into a towel then lift up toward the root area, allowing hair to fold & coil creating natural waves. Gently massage to remove additional moisture & lock the wave.
4. Blow dry with a diffuser at medium heat & low velocity, 8 to 10" away from hair. To create extra texture, lightly mist SPRAY A PORTER.
5. Spray POWDER BLUFF from roots to mid-lenghts at the crown, top, and sides massaging at the root to add volume.

THE TWISTED BEACH WAVES

With just a twist of a flat iron, you can intensify your beach waves.

1. Start with the "NATURAL BEACH WAVES" technique divided into 2 sections.
2. Lightly mist SPRAY A PORTER and create a twisted cord holding into the ends.
3. Lightly mist SPRAY A PORTER and create a twisted cord holding into the ends.
4. To add shine and separation spray GLOSS APPEAL from mid-lengths to ends.
5. Finish with LAQUE DENTELLE for additional control

Send us some pictures girls!

15 Makeup Tricks That Can Change Your Life

We usually hear a lot of tips and tricks on how to make our makeup last longer, or how to apply out liner faster. Sometimes us girls need a fast and easy fix when we don’t have a los of experience when it comes to applying makeup.

For those of you who are not professionals, and those of you who probably are but don’t carry your tools with you; I’m sharing a list of 15 makeup hacks I’ve been gathering from a few different sources to make our lives a little easier.

1. Turn a pencil eyeliner into a gel formula with the help of a match or lighter.

2. Cover your eyelid with white liner to make any eye shadow shade pop.

3. Draw your cat-eye first, and then fill in the open space
for a perfect winged liner application every single time.

4. Use a spoon to create the perfect winged liner.

5. Draw a slanted hashtag at the outer corner of your eye,
and then blend it for an instantly smokey effect.

6. Use a spoon to avoid mascara marks on your upper eye lid.

7. Add eye purpose saline solution to a dry mascara formula, it will re-wet it.
(For emergencies only, remember you should change your mascara every three months)

8. Heat your eyelash curler with a hair dryer, it will make your lashes curl easier.

9. Dust on translucent powder in between coats of mascara to plump up your lashes.

10. Apply eyelash glue to fake eyelashes using the ti of a clean bobby pin.

11. If you want a long-lasting lip color, lay a tissue over your mouth after applying
your favorite lipstick, and then dust translucent powder over it to set the color.

12. Mix loose pigments with a salve or petroleum jelly to make your own custom lip-gloss.

13. Conceal dark circles and puffy eyes the right way by creating a triangle with your cover-up.

14. Make contouring look more natural by using a pencil, pen,
or makeup brush handle as your guide to finding exactly where your cheekbone is.

15. Map the contours of your face with a gel eyebrow pencil,
since it’s easier to apply precisely and blend in.

Spring clean your make-up!

Spring is here! Flowers are blooming and we start thinking about renewing everything, our houses, wardrobe and our make-up collection!

Renewing your make-up periodically isn't just about finding that killer lipstick or the perfect eye shadow combo, it’s also a matter of safety: You apply it to your face almost every day! While unopened, well-formulated and properly stored cosmetics can remain fresh for a couple of years, when products are stored in hot or humid conditions (like your bathroom) or exposed to air when opened, bacteria can form and some ingredients can degrade. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to tell when your products pass their prime – so it’s always wise to spring clean your cosmetics.
That’s one of the reasons I decided to give you an insight to my cosmetic-cleaning schedule. Are you ready?

Every Week: clean your makeup brushes and sponges with baby shampoo and warm water.
Every Month: Disinfect your eyeliner and lip liner sharpeners with rubbing alcohol.
Every 3 Months: Throw away your mascara and liquid eyeliner – not only will the consistency start to change, but the preservatives start to break down, leaving you susceptible to eye infections.
Every 6 Months: Throw away your liquid and cream foundations, concealer (although it can last up to 1 year if you apply it with a clean applicator), facial cleansers, lotions, creams (unless they are in a pump dispenser, in which case they can last up to 1 year), cream eye shadows and anything with SPF.
Every Year: Toss your powder, blush, powder eye shadow, lipstick, lip-gloss, lip liners and eyeliner pencils (although anything that can be dipped in alcohol or sharpened can last a bit longer)

In addition, if you notice a change in smell, color or consistency, rely on your common sense and toss them. Your products will be fresh longer by ensuring that all packaging is closed tight and stored in a cool, dry place (like a refrigerator or linen closet) And remember: Never share makeup – even with family members!
